SEO = Search Engine Organization
What = Means and methods to get your website to be in the first few pages of search engines (eg. Google, Yahoo search, Bing, etc) results, best if position #1 in page 1, when someone look up a particular word, term or phrase (ie keyword)
Eg. If your website is, lets say, about training puppy programs,. Then when someone searches for “training puppy programs” in Google, you’d want your website to appear in the 1st page, and again ranked #1 is the best. Its not impossible when done the correct way (which isn’t as easy as it sounds)
Why = How often do you click on 2nd or 3rd page of Google search result? I’d guess almost never. So, you’d have very little to no visitor visiting your website without SEO. And without people going to your site, or in short, without traffic, you would not make any income – assuming your website is selling something

Search engine optimization refers to the use and placement of keywords on a content page.
Ideal page construction uses one specific keyword and four supporting keywords.
To get the best results you need to select keywords that have reasonable demand / low supply / and high profitability. If you use the most popular keywords for your niche it can be difficult to get your page into the top ten listings.
The specific keyword is used as the page file name and also should appear in the title, description and in the first 90 characters of the page as well as in the closing statement.
The keywords should not be overused (keyword stuffing) or under used.It merely should be sprinkled through the body of the content page.
The specific keyword should also have a link at least once but never used in a link more than twice.
By using less competitive keywords that have a low supply your page is more likely to rank higher but this is not the only factor in optimizing your website.
You need back links to your site from other websites. The engines regard these back links as a kind of like a vote of confidence. Back links can be created through article submissions, submitting your site to the directories, social media etc.
It is important to also exchange links with non competitive websites in the same niche.
Over time as you continue to add or keyword focused content pages that are well linked the engines will start to increase your page rank.
Remember to always provide unique quality content for your visitors and never copy someone else’s work because you will be penalized by the search engines.
Quality content provides a great visitor experience as well as a tasty treat for the search engine spiders.
